Lagoon celebrates 120 years and plans new coaster

Well, considering the biggest roller coaster at Lagoon right now is 85 feet tall, and the area west of Colossus doesn't give them THAT much room, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Vekoma SLC cut and paste or something like that placed here.

I've been wanting Lagoon pretty bad for a WHILE now...

Can anyone give me an idea of how likely it is that Colossus will still be around for '07. I'd like to put this park on the '07 list, but if it means missing the Anton, I might need to go earlier...

Well, I was just looking at the proposed site on Google Earth, and it looks like if they take out the parking lot south of the White Roller Coaster, (which is west of Colossus - the proposed site), and move it to the north side, they have about 6.4 acres to work with.

Taking out Colossus only gives them a little bit of space, so I would be surprised if they remove it this offseason, but you never know...

GCI or Gravity Group anyone? Heck if BB and HW can do it, why not Lagoon.

Now come on, Moosh. I live about 10 minutes away from the park. Any hints at all?

Well, they are awfully close to S&S and have worked with them before. Perhaps they'll get the call for a new woodie.

If its steel, I bet its Gerstlauer, one of the beyond vertical coasters that seem to be popular with these small-medium size parks.

Well, I just read some rumors that it is a Zeirer-designed launched coaster, with a 110 foot top hat, including a couple inversions afterwards. I guess we'll see.

S&S woodie!

During the ACE conference last year they mentioned they were looking at a steel looping coaster that does not have OTS harnesses. They seem to be happy with their two coasters from Maurer Söhne, and Maurer makes the X-Car that does loops and has no OTS harnesses.
