(Press Release) A crew from The Travel Channel will visit Holiday World & Splashin' Safari all day Saturday, shooting interviews and park footage for an upcoming special about top theme parks and water parks.

“We’re honored to be included in this new show,” says Holiday World & Splashin' Safari president Will Koch. “It’s our understanding they’re only visiting four parks nationwide.”

The name of the program and the air date have not yet been announced.

The Travel Channel cable network has 30 million subscribers. Holiday World & Splashin' Safari have been featured on The Travel Channel in the past as well as on its sister networks, The Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel.

Hopefully they get a chance to promote The Voyage and their new holiday section so that peeps nation-wide will be able to see what they have in store for next year.

If any park deserves this attention more than HW...I can't think of who it is! They've been working so hard over the past five years alone, (I say that because my first visit was in 2000), I really can't believe how much the park has changed...and it's for the better. 2006 will be another world-class addition with The Voyage, Bahari River, and the Thanksgiving section. Congrats Koch's!

The Travel Channel will be at Six Flags Fiesta Texas next Saturday, 8/27/05 when the annual Golden Ticket awards will be announced. They will be filming for a special to be shown next spring that will showcase the newly crowned #1 Steel and Wood Coasters, Best Park, Cleanest Park, Friendliest, Most Beautiful etc. Check out www.Amusementtoday.com and see the links to the Golden Ticket. 2004 link shows the current top 50 wood and steel coasters and the 2005 link tells the great news of the multi year deal Amusement Today recently signed with the Travel Channel. Check back Sunday 8/28/05 for the new rankings.

Is it just me, or should Holiday World be nominated in all those areas, (well, except steel coaster, of course.)?
