THANK GOD!!! Wow this makes me happy... sorry. I'm done.

Mr. Buescher, thank you. You have earned a grateful amount of respect from many of us, especially now.

Sweet!

What great news! While I think the coaster should go to Cypress, I'd be happy to see it operate in Valdosta too. I commend Mr. Buescher for his dedication to preservation, which certainly seems like good business sense to me.

Great news indeed!

Cypress Gardens would be a better fit for Starliner since they lack a full sized adult woodie and Cheetah is a similar design (out & back). It is also interesting to see that John Fetterman from Knoebels is doing the relocation of the ride since it will not be his (Knoebel's) ride. But than Knoebels is owned by coaster enthusiasts instead of corporations looking out for just their interests. I'm sure John will do a good job. I expect the ride to run better than ever because of John! :-)*** This post was edited by Pink Floyd Fanatic 3/23/2005 2:53:53 AM ***

I would take Starliner over Cheetah anyday. :-P

Great news!

Awesome news!!! I was pretty bummed not getting to ride it before it closed. Here's to second chances!
March 23, 2005, 10:03A

Kent, you roXor my soXorz!1!!1

Starliner is indeed a *great* ride, and while Cypress is a better fit, both parks are about two hours from me...

John Fetterman probably isn't working on the project as part of the Knoebels team, he was most likely hired as an outside consultor. Mr. Fetterman has an extensive background in wood coasters that goes well beyond what he has accomplished at Knoebels and considering he is one of the biggest PTC enthusiasts you'll ever find, it would have been silly for Mr. Buescher to NOT hire the guy! With his name attached to this, we can all expect nothing but the very best.

Selfishly speaking I'm hoping the coaster stays in Florida...I'll be in Valdosta this summer and would hate to think I'm a year early.
March 23, 2005, 10:48A

Great stuff!
March 23, 2005, 1:21P

So you're worried about what feeling what I feel right now? I was just at Cypress and I'm left feeling like I was a year early!
March 23, 2005, 2:05P

You may have been
March 23, 2005, 2:41P

Guess that means someone will have to twist my arm and get me to go back.
March 23, 2005, 3:26P

I would twist your arm Rob, but methinks it's a bit EARLY to start that...

bill, doesn't expect to see Starliner running anytime in '05...but hey, for WA and CG, the 2006 season starts in January!

edit: D'oh, the header SAYS it'll open in '06, next time I'll read BEFORE I type...
