Wild Adventures brings snow to South Georgia

Maybe those tourists would like to swing by my house and clear my driveway... again.

I guess that sounds like fun if you are not currently having a blizzard.

Take some of our snow in Buffalo!

2 inches of snow here in Metro Detroit turned my 30 minute commute to school into a 90 minute commute. Not because of the amount of snow, but more because of the lack of salt on the roads. The gov't around here seems to only be prepared for big snowfalls, and not light stuff.

So yes, Georgia can take our snow anytime they want!

Its the not-prepared-for-light-stuff that really throws Columbus for a loop. Not that our snow removal is all that great when the heavy stuff comes down, mind you.

It just started snowing here (Fredericksburg, VA) about 10:30am ish, I got out of school early, and by time we got home, there was about an inch on the ground....crazy traffic though, no salt anywhere, people are going nuts.

J Bird, it's snowing like crazy here in Richmond, we are getting out 45 minutes early, but still, I have to drive home in this crap.

We had 2 feet last year and school was still open in Syracuse NY.

That's because it's Syracuse, you guys are 1/2 eskimo.

Pittsburgh came to a standstill too. You'd think that after an entire winter so far of not having to do anything, they'd be ready to go for the first storm and have roads plowed, salt deployed, all that good stuff, but no, this is Pittsburgh and the communities of Allegheny County we're talking about here. It must be nice to have snow in one area for one day a year and think how nice it must be to have it all winter. While it's 50 degrees or so while they are all gawking at it.

I took a trip down the ice slide on an inner tube a couple years ago, wasn't going to risk breaking my ankles in the ice-skating rink...

Of course, being FROM the North means I was better than most at forming slush-, er, SNOW balls...

Alabama omg it needs to stop snowing. Well actually it doesnt snow EVER!. Its cold and never snows. If it does its a blizzard or it melts in 5 secs.

Ah Syracuse.

We hit one of the worst snowstorms ever heading back to Buffalo a few days ago. The worst of it was right around Syracuse. Syracuse is the "snowiest" place in New York. Ick!

If Chattanooga gets snow at all, it's considered A miracle. We're about as far south as you can get and still have snow days.

I believe Atlanta is about as far south you can go and still have snow days. We really haven't gotten a good snow in a couple of years... mainly ice storms. You'd be surprised how many people that live in South Georgia who have never seen snow and would be thrilled to go to a "snow day" like Wild Adventures offers. Actually some of my good friends that live about 3 1/2 hours south of Atlanta have never seen snow (Hopefully we'll have some during the weekends they are up here in the next few weeks).

South Georgia gets ice storms just like north Georgia does, so they get days off, though I don't know if you'd neccessarily call it a "snow day", I don't know how specific you are attempting to be.

However, I'd bet that it has snowed in South Georgia during the Superstorm of '93, when we got like 9 inches in Marietta.

"Snow Days" is what Wild Adventures *names* their snow-making/ice-skating frenzy...it's not an indication of a day off school-type *snow day*...(although when I took a sick day to attend it did remind me of playing hooky, LOL)....
