But seriously, if you come all the way from *Misery* to NJ for Ka, you'd HAVE to go to New England, too, for THE Ride of Steel and "The Lake", wouldn't cha?

I'm VERY pumped about this ride....but I (as usual) have a question...

Doesn't the train in the pics look like a *6 x 4* seating configuration, menaing four rows of six-across? Or is that just me?

Holy. Crap.

Between this and The Italian Job, I'm stoked.

I don't think there's anything about this coaster I don't love including the name. The inversion *really* surprised me and I always dig the splashdown idea. The only thing they should have done differently is get their animation from Keify.

+Danny, yay for the new Floridians!

Lets hope that BGW will be getting something as good as this or better.
October 27, 2004, 11:51A

...the layout can't be re-created in RCT2 though as the vertical coaster lacks inversions...

The Vertical Drop coaster does include Vertical Loops in RCT2.

I can't wait to ride Shakira. I can't think of a better latina pop star to name a ride after. I wonder if it'll be all shaky in the back seat?

Not a knock against it, since some of the best rides are really short, but how do they get 3 minutes? From the limited information in those pictures, you climb to the 200', drop, immelman and turn into a MCBR, drop into the tunnel, out of the tunnel into an overbank, splash and then probably return to station. Just my guess based on those two pictures (where are ya Keith? ) but it seems pretty short for a 3 minute ride length ...

Keith didn't do this animation (or else he probably wouldn't have just called me asking about what the confirmed stats were... just a wild guess) hence my comment above. He's in Florida on vacation and looking for apartments right now with Josepth. I think they found one, woohoo!

You need to count in the mid course breaks, the wait on the big hill, up the lift hill, and the brake run, it'll be 3 minutes long.

I read this as Shakira. I can't be the only one.

Look five comments about yours... you're not.

Sheikra isn't the only "female" name coming next season. What about Hydra?

I don't know why I said earlier that it had two loops. For some reason I thought it had a vertical loop. Now I am sad. It's still going to be an awesome ride, but for the past two hours I thought the ride included a vertical loop.

Weird.

Shakira, Hydra, whatever riding Rita is going to entail at Alton towers. Hmmm....all these female sounding coaster names. There's a joke here to be made about female coasters and the sexual orientation of many enthusiasts but its not coming to me for some reason.

In other news, in an attempt to play to the newest trend, Six Flags announced they are only joking about the Kingda Ka name and it's great themeing, instead they are going to plop it down in the middle of a parking lot and name it Charro- The Ride.

What's the train config? It looks like 3x6 to me...
October 27, 2004, 12:31P

3x8 fo sho.

Rembmer AA, it has to have 48 legs....not counting Shakira's (which look FINE to me, hehe)...
October 27, 2004, 12:42P

Shakira, Hydra, Rita...threesome!
October 27, 2004, 12:46P

Oh, Im not complaining... even though it is a B&M...

You figure their last ride was a coaster, and the Haunted Lighthouse was a good family addition, however, they lost their trabant and a few other flat rides in the last decade that could have been replaced or relocated.

It wouldn't have been hard to get a set of african-themed teacups or a flying swing ride, preferably shaded of course.

They just need a couple more inbetweeners... thats what I noticed two years ago.

GOTTA GET TO BGT NEXT YEAR! GOTTA GET TO BGT NEXT YEAR! GOTTA GET TO BGT NEXT YEAR!

For all that said it would be a one trick pony and they weren't interested, I say "HA! Wrong! Its a 4 trick pony(drop, inversion, drop, splash)".

This is going to be good. I like the name. I like the layout. Looks like Oblivion needs to change its name to Obsolete(sp?).

This looks freakin incredible!
