Members of the Ku Klux Klan say they plan to stage a protest outside the Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., on Saturday, where several thousand gay and lesbian parkgoers are expected for a ''Gay Day'' event. About 20 protesters are expected.

The Klan taking a moral position. Is that ironic or just stupid? Hard to believe this kind of thing still goes on.

If anything this just means that more of the GLBT community will show up.

Dumbasses.

Maybe they are gay and just trying to hide it by using the KKK. I still can't believe this crap goes on!! GRRR

^So they'd be the KKGay?

LMOL!

It's sometimes a good thing when people show how dumb they really are.

"Maybe they are gay and just trying to hide it by using the KKK"

Easy to spot... They are the Klansmen wearing pastel or flower print sheets.

(Hey... don't blast me for that one... I'm an equal opportunity offender. And now that I've effectively insulted both sides, I'll just be on my way...)

It sure does go on. I was watching something the other day on the history of the KKK. It was sick to see how they STILL act. Honestly, I feel sorry for them. They have no idea what they are doing. They are completely ignorant and are only acting on what they are taught.

Hopefully this news of a protest won't deter anybody from going to the park.

So much hate in the world, why are they doing this at a theme park, where people go to get AWAY from the world.
May 19, 2004, 10:34A

Couldn't have said it better myself RCT Master! Isn't the park private property? Can't they be kicked out? Even if they buy a ticket they can be removed from the park right?

I can drive a half-hour outside of Gainesville (Gay-nesville)in virtually any direction and run into this kind of "moral superiority"....easy to spot, they generally have *rebel flags* somewhere on their vehicles.

I guess being morally superior is all you get when you're a mental GIANT like those guys wearing white hoods, huh?

Well, when that's all you have, that's all you have and you cling to it tightly. What else are you gonna do? Admit you're a turd in the social food chain?

SLFAKE: Pastel? How gauche! But the thread count is always a dead giveaway.

I was lied to, they told me KKK was the Kentucky Kingdom Klub and we were going to hand out free passes to Six Flags. This explains the stupid uniforms. Who do I write to in order to get my membership fee back?

So many problems in this world are caused by the herd-instinct.

CoastaPlaya: Had no idea that Pastels are considered "gauche"... Had no idea about thread count either. Come to think of it, kind of glad I don't know about that stuff...

boblogone: Easy mistake to make... I mean if I were a die hard Six Flags fan I'd hide my face under a hood too.

Wow I didn't know anyone still took the KKK seriously or even tolerated them for that matter, either way this has the ability to get ugly given the rep of the KKK

Remember PPP2001, when the KKK showed up at Knoebels?

mOOSH [relax...we were supposed to be ghosts...of coaster designers from the Golden Age...ok, so it didn't work the way we'd planned!]

The same types protested the gay event at the San Diego zoo recently. I had my wife drive me past a couple times so I could pop out of the sunroof and call the "Naziiiiis!!!! Naaaazzzziiiiiiissss!!"

They looked incredibly surprised that someone would equate them with nazis.

Best KKK quote I ever heard from the local news:

It was a story about a town that was being pressured to move its nativity scene from the town hall, town park, or where ever. The local KKK kook showed up with a protest sign. The interview went something like this:

Reporter: A member of the KKK was protesting the decision to move the nativity scene from the property...

KKK member: I'm here because this is a Christian country founded on Christian values... I think that the town should be allowed to keep the manorah on display.

Reporter: Do you mean Manger?

KKK member: Yeah...

I mean come on... labeling your self a hate filled biggot is bad enough... AT the very least know the symbolism you are supporting... and if you can't do that, AT THE VERY LEAST don't get it confused with a symbol of one of the groups that your group "hates".

(... then there was the story of the exceptionally dumb klansman [okay, that is redundant, I know] who kept getting tangled up in his fitted sheet...)
