In May 2004, Halfpipe becomes the newest addition to the collection of coasters and rides at Six Flags Elitch Gardens. Guests can spin countless 360s on a gigantic snowboard on their way to the rim of a 10-story tall halfpipe.

I honestly think this could prove to be a big hit with enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike....the fact that it looks like an overgrown skateboard ramp is pretty cool too...

Capacity means it's unlikely to be found at an SFMM or SFGAm anytime soon, unless Intamin can get the capacity up (increasing number of "spinning cars" or number of seats per car). It would be kind of ironic if this thing flopped in N America while we're getting more of the Z-flyers built *already*...but I wouldn't bet against the Half-Pipe (but I would have found a better name, LOL).

I would imagine that the seats are about the same height as the impulse seats. No moving floors there and no problems with scraping feet.

Having long legs on this one is not a problem, more like an adventage. With your and some friends long legs you can make it spin faster when you push with your legs against the floor. The spinning accelerates mostly during accelerations. It makes Half-Pipe a pretty interactive coaster and it's funny to ride, however the ride program isn't long at all so it's over pretty quickly.

I think this a perfect addition. I just can't wait for this season, it is looking to a be a season full of improvements.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it funny that this is Elitch's third "forward and back" coaster. Ahhh well. At least it is something new.

Not much else you can place in such a small park. Plus Sidewinder is one great ride no matter how lame it looks...
