Glad those people were not seriously injured, I'm sure it was traumatic. I can't find anything about it, but my mother still lives in that area, & she swears there was a lawsuit with park management over something there(?). I won't repeat it unless I see it up/in writting, though.
There was always a bus that took a road up, the tram, & the chairlift, which remains as the reason I haven't returned there in years. I don't remember how long the ride up is, but those things are torture on my nerves & make me very uneasy. I've probably been there 20 times & the chairlift was always something my dad had to throw me screaming onto. I almost rode the tram thingie once, but it scared me even more than the lift.
But even if I returned, & I know a family that still visits every season, there's not much there, JMHO.
There were two years that we went with The Devil, including its' first season. It was my first looping coaster, I think. The second year that we went, I remember after the loop, being thrown for a loop, it was rough as I had been on many other looping coasters by then. I think the story the park gave was that the ride went too fast, so they added a loop to trim speed(?). Nice little adjustment, huh
? It is nice to roll out of the station & through the loop, but that's all I remember being worth while. Unless you like pirate ships on mountain edges. That's serious sentimental childhood stuff for me, LOL, & I have NO desire to go back.
Have they added anything in the last ten years, or cleaned much up?
