What do you like about it?

I was looking for a review like that. I just got a new Dell with a 3.0 GHz processor, and, lo and behold, RCT3 works like a charm. I'd completely given up on it and its horrid frame rate on my old 1.6 GHz computer. Now, I'm back in business!

I was planning on skipping Soaked and going straight for Wild to get the new (read: finally realistic) track pieces for steel twisters. Good strategy?

You may want to invest in soaked for some of the flats & coaster styles as I'm not sure if they're added in wild without soaked or not.

Yes, I have all the expansions. I like how the scenarios in Wild are actually DOABLE. They've fixed a few of the major bugs such as peeps not riding yoru coasters for no good reason... and constant "Staff Member X is going to QUIT"

Those things still happen, but at a reasonable rate, and you can address them.

The new coaster types are a hoot. I've wanted to see a Seizmic (Set Point's Prototype Splitting Coaster) in action ever since it was shown at IAAPA ... what three, four years ago?

I still think the game is far more resource hoggy than it needs to be, but at least now it's playable... and FUN.

Well, finally a non-b!tch thread about RCT3...

...yea, there's some supporters on this board... but the vast majority seems to down it in one form or another in their own views. I am one of the supporters as I've always enjoyed the game. It didn't make a significant jump in quality when I upgraded the ram to 2gigs & video card from an ATI to a GeForce 68000... but then again, the game SAYS that it's best played on an ATI video card, so I wonder if that statement holds true or if it's just an endorsement.

It doesn't get too boggy until you really get everything running. It's still fun to sandbox it & create a dream park even though it'll take you through the night just to open it... but at least the senarios in the "Wild" game are more fun than "Soaked", and offer just as many as the original.

I've actually had some luck with the scenario's myself...granted none have been won on tycoon level but most of the wild scenario's I've taken the time to play through are completed up through entrepanur<sp?>.

slightly OT:what I'm looking for right now is a download for Shyguy's mainstreet scenery packs that include an auto extractor file,I downloaded the packs earlier but couldn't install them manually & there's a really well done park I'd like to download which requires these two sets so if anyone knows where I can find the auto extractor version of the mainstreet scenery packs for download I'd greatly appreciate it.

You dare play a senario without getting to the Tycoon level? Gasp! I won't finish the level until I've achieved maximum victory... but after that, I lose all hope & then abandon the park and move to the next (kind of like a locust).

LOL,I just play the Scenario's up to the point needed to unlock the next one.

Ah, but you must play them all the way up to Tycoon to unlock the last one. :D
