Skyscraper will have an individual ride fee, and admission to Cedar Point will not be required.
Anyone have any images or video of another model somewhere?

Here's the ride CP is getting in it's previous home at Valleyfair and before that at Dorney. Now I just need a photo of it at CP for the trifecta.
I wonder if the sign comes with the ride
Oh. Weak. Although, it will probably have an easier time getting riders in Challenge Park. I think I only saw one person riding it at Dorney the few times I have been there.

I rode it at Dorney with LoriU. It's actually a very fun ride.
^Fun and quite scary--hence why many people choose to stay on the ground My favorite part of the pre-ride experience was when they told us to empty everything out of our pockets and they had tupperware containers ready for us.

I rode it at Dorney. Thought it was a lot of fun. Great airtime the first time you whip over the top.

I've seen one of these at SFFT. I think I've finally found something that I have no desire to ride. I guess it's time to turn in my cbuzz card...

I'll turn in my card along with you, Brian. When I saw the announcement, my first reaction was "no way am I getting on that".

They should stick one of these on the Stratosphere Tower.

^There could be wind issues with something like that. But maybe not.*** This post was edited by Jason Hammond 2/13/2008 6:41:36 PM ***

How funny you guys consider it an intimidating ride, as I've never found them to be all that scary- and I'm a wuss when it comes to heights.

I've personally never understood Challenge Park, or its lure. I never have, and never will, pay an extra "fee" to enjoy an attraction when I already paid admission at Cedar Point. That said, there must be plenty who do to make it profittable. It always looks rather dead when I take a glance. The ride looks like something that should be at the Ohio State Fair, not Cedar Point.

Yeah Greg, did you ever recover all your hearing after that ride? hehe. It was fun though.

Challenge Park is for resort guests. It always has been. That's why it is where it is instead of in the front of the park.

I think Challenge Park is a great idea. Most parks already upcharge for go-karts or mini-golf or skycoasters and things like that. CP put them all in one spot, gave it a name and make it seem like more than it is.

Maybe it would help if I actually stayed at one of the resorts. All these years, and I have never stayed on site. Is that some kind of sin?

That looks fantastic! I can't wait to try that this summer. Once you've stepped out of an airplane at 4,500 feet, there really aren't too many amusement park rides that intimidate you very much. But I will make sure to ride on an empty stomach.

Assuming they don't wuss it down, this will be the single most thrilling ride at the Point. If it were included with admission, I would ride over and over again. Nothing thrills me more than a good skyscraper.

I have ridden the Scandia Screamer, and I didnt realize that the cars flip upside down and it was great until it stopped at the top for a few minutes and it was 40 degrees.
Might want to watch to see what a new ride does before you ride it next time.

I think anyone who has ridden this before will concur that it is not as terrifying as it looks. I rode on in Pigeon Forge, TN and it was quite enjoyable. The backwards drop from the very top is the most intense, but even isn't that bad. But I'm with Ensign....after experiencing free-fall, being strapped into a ride isn't that intimidating!

I don't understand how this ride works. On one of these that they have on extreme rides 2000, that you can find on google video, they say that it freely spins upside down. How can this be the case? No one would want to be upside down at the bottum b/c you would be pulling four g's and having the blood rush to your head with that much intensity. Talk about a red out! From what I understand humans can withstand far more g's when the blood is being pushed to out feet rather than out heads.

^^Did you jump solo or tandem? Mine were in the distant past (1989, to be exact). I had thirteen solo jumps before I came to my senses and started dating my future wife. Jump #13 was the best: I had my first good PRCP, I landed in the peas, and I actually came in standing up (as opposed to landing on my butt, my chest, my face...etc.) Sigh. Good times.
